A Day in Motion: Purpose, Power & Peak Performance

People sometimes ask me, “How do you do it all?”

The honest answer is: I don’t do it all at once.

I move through my day one intention, one conversation, one connection, and one opportunity at a time.

And before the calendar even begins, there are the simple things that make everything else possible.

The Morning Matters

My day starts with getting locked in.

Water.

Meditation.

Coffee.

My Mindset In Motion™ journal. (Workbook on Amazon.)

Movement, on my vibration plate.

I use my vibration plate for 10–30 minutes in the morning and again in the evening. I think of those sessions as bookends to my day, a way to create a little movement, reset, and transition before I begin and after I finish.

Then there is working out, eating, staying hydrated, breathing, and all of those seemingly small things that don’t make it onto a calendar but are essential to keeping me moving.

Because peak performance isn’t just about how much you accomplish.

It’s also about taking care of the person doing the accomplishing.

Then the Day Begins

And today is a full one.

My calendar includes:

  • Meeting with my VA
  • Bloodwork appointment
  • My monthly Northern California BNI networking meeting on Zoom (that’s just 1 of 3 BNI Professional Networking meetings)
  • One-on-one meeting with a Connecticut / New York Realtor — because networking and relationship-building don’t have to happen in the same room or even the same state
  • CPA paperwork
  • Contact + plan, senior community options, and arranging community showings/tours
  • Reviewing Piedmont Listing #1
  • Reviewing Piedmont Listing #2 and its timeline with clients
  • Checking the appointment status on a Piedmont rental
  • Following up on yesterday’s listing appointments in Alameda and El Cerrito
  • Researching light fixtures for two property listings, sourcing options, and sending links to the owners
  • A 1:00 PM podcast interview
  • Sending a note to yesterday’s podcast host
  • Emails
  • Text messages
  • Client calls
  • Booking additional appointments
  • Connecting with my publicist for upcoming speaking, podcast, and other opportunities
  • Branding call with Winston

And that’s just the list.

It doesn’t include the conversations that pop up throughout the day, the decisions that need to be made, the unexpected phone calls, the ideas that come to me while I’m doing something completely different, or the people who need an answer.

That’s the part of entrepreneurship — and life — that rarely makes the highlight reel.

This Is Mindset In Motion™

My book, Mindset In Motion™, isn’t simply about setting goals.

It’s about what happens after the goal is set.

GOAL. BELIEVE. INTERNALIZE. SHARE. ACTIVATE.

The final step is ACTIVATE.

Because an idea doesn’t change your life until you put it into motion.

And that’s true whether you’re building a business, changing careers, starting over, pursuing a dream, strengthening your relationships, taking care of your health, or navigating a major life transition.

You don’t have to change everything today.

You just have to activate the next thing.

Purpose. Power. Peak Performance.

At 62, I have no intention of slowing down.

But I am becoming much more intentional about where I put my energy.

I want my days to have purpose.

I want to use my power — my experience, relationships, knowledge, and voice — to make an impact.

And I want to continue pursuing peak performance, not because I need to prove anything, but because I’m curious about what is still possible.

That’s what keeps me moving.

Not the number on my driver’s license.

Not someone else’s definition of what I should be doing at this stage of life.

My mindset.

Because age isn’t the number.

Age is an attitude.

And some of the most extraordinary things in life can happen when you decide you’re not finished yet.

Keep Moving

So tonight, after the calls are done, the emails are answered, the meetings are over, and the last appointment is checked off, I’ll step back onto my vibration plate for another 10–30 minutes.

I’ll reset.

I’ll breathe.

And tomorrow, I’ll do it again.

Not because I have to.

Because I get to.

“Look for the extraordinary in the ordinary; that’s where the magic lies. ✨”

And if you’re wondering what your next step is, start small.

Drink the water.

Take the walk.

Make the call.

Send the email.

Have the conversation.

Write down the goal.

And then —

ACTIVATE.
